The pieces that I add to this site function more as an online writing journal, equivalent to you turning open the tattered cover of my spiral notebook that’s been carried around so much, the metal is beginning to unwind. These posts are the items I write when not working on short stories, articles or other material for Career College Central, Urban Times, Present Magazine, and so on. And given that I do not often write about current events (there are enough bloggers doing that, and much better at it), readers are not inclined to leave their thoughts. Comments were never a component I was counting on. However, if you read something here that you particularly enjoy – or don’t, for that matter – feel free to post your thoughts or e-mail me. I’ve also engaged in social media with the addition of pages on MySpace and Facebook. Track me down. Tell me what you’re thinking. Some of you have. But if you haven’t, feel free. I like to talk, to argue and engage. Don’t let these airy posts fool you.

If you are a baseball fan or follow journalism in some capacity, then you’ll love this site. The blog’s unusual name is derived from a fictional ballplayer who narrates a trilogy of baseball stories by author Mark Harris. I’ve posted a few comments in the last week or so, but I’ve neglected to link to them here, until now, because I’d left behind a few typos. Apparently, when you are not a blog’s administrator, you can’t post your thoughts and edit them later when you aren’t so impassioned. I suppose, at almost 34, I should be grateful that I can still be impassioned at all. This is already one of my favorite blogs to read. Check it out and see what you think.
