A few typos ain't nuthin.' It's the passion that counts. I had a little come-to-Jesus meeting with my feature writing class recently. I told them the secret to writing in my opinion is not the size of your words, the elegance of your words, the complexity of your words, or how unusual your words are. The secret is how accurate they are. How they are perfect in that spot to describe that thing. The second most important thing is your own passion. And, in the end, what I think I'm reading when I read other people is their own ability to concentrate. Concentration is everything. Quiet the voices, quiet the room, let your mind dictate.

Might all be crap, I don't know. But I do know a few typos ain't nuthin.' Journalism is how good you can be by 2 p.m., not how good you can be.
